Excellence in Currency Awards

The 3rd Excellence in Currency Awards, organised by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA) will be presented at the 2010 Currency Conference, held from May 12-15, 2010 in Buenos Aires.

The awards, which are sponsored by Currency News, were introduced to promote and recognise excellence in currency production processing, management and distribution and are open to any organisation or individual products and systems of the currency industry, as well as issuing authorities, commercial banks and enforcement agencies.

As with the awards presented at Prague in October 2008 and in Bangkok in May 2007, there are seven categories:

  • Best New Banknote or Series
  • Best New Coin or Series
  • Best New Feature
  • Best New Process or System
  • Best Public Education Campaign
  • Best Website
  • Lifetime Achievement Award.

The nominations for new innovations, technologies, notes or coins must relate to those introduced since the last awards presentation in October 2008.

Nominations are now closed for the 2010 awards. The IACA Awards Committee will draw up a shortlist of three in each category, which will then be put to a vote of the IACA membership.

The winners and runners-up will be announced and presented with their prizes at a special awards ceremony during the Currency Conference.
