Glory Faces Profit Pressure as Overseas Business Grows
Japan's Glory, a specialist in money-handling machines and self-service equipment, reported lower revenue and profits for the financial year ended 31 March 2026. Overseas growth partially offset weaker domestic performance and higher operating expenses, which weighed on overall results.
Consolidated revenue fell by 7.9% to ¥339.58 billion. Operating profit declined by 29.2% to ¥29.75 billion, while profit before tax dropped by 28.8% to ¥24.66 billion.
The group consists of four reportable market segments – Financial, Retail and Transportation, Amusement (amusement halls, pachinko parlours), and Overseas (financial institutions, global retailers, CITs and others overseas).
The Overseas market remained Glory's largest revenue segment. Sales to external customers rose by 2.9% to ¥216.09 billion. Segment profit increased to ¥21.11 billion from ¥18.02 billion, partially offsetting weaker results in other markets.
