PERURI Targets AI, Semiconductors and Quantum Security

The Indonesian state-owned security printer, Perum Percetakan Uang Republik Indonesia (PERURI), is now expanding its operations beyond traditional banknotes and security documents to encompass digital trust and advanced technologies, with artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, and post-quantum cryptography (PQC) playing central roles in its strategy.

At the PERURI Digital Summit 2026, held in Jakarta on 21–22 October on the theme of 'Building Technology of the Future', the ambition was evident. The summit brought together the government, the business sector, academia, and the technology community to discuss Indonesia's digital future.

As the Digital Business Director, Edwin Purwandesi, stated, the aim of the summit was to promote the nation's digital transformation and to enhance cooperation within the country's technology ecosystem. The summit programme also included Chip Hackathon 2026, a student competition designed to encourage chip-design ideas and to develop future technology talent.
