A World 1st for Latin America as CCL Secure Installs New Advanced Foil Application Line in Mexico

CCL Secure has expanded the capabilities at its polymer substrate production facility in Querétaro, Mexico with the installation of a new OptiNota-H from Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions. The state-of-the-art foil application line is the only one in the region capable of applying advanced micro-optic and holographic security features to polymer banknote substrates – and will serve CCL Secure customers worldwide.

The new line specialises in the application of micro-optic and diffractive patches, stripes and other advanced foil-based technologies directly onto GUARDIAN™ polymer substrate. According to the company, the investment marks a significant milestone in its continued expansion of its polymer banknote technology platform, enabling central banks and security printers to combine the exceptional durability and performance of GUARDIAN with some of the most advanced visible security technologies available for banknotes.
