KOMSCO Strategy Pays Off

As it celebrates its 75th anniversary, the Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO) has shared the results of a three-year transformation programme that has fundamentally reshaped its operations from a traditional currency manufacturer into a diversified digital trust and security technology company.

Last year, the company reached record sales of nearly KRW 640 billion, growing c. 26% from KRW 506.8 billion in 2025. Net profit has also grown by 68% (KRW 10.6 billion) in the past two years.

Once heavily dependent on banknote production, the organisation now generates more than 80% of its revenue from non-currency businesses, including speciality minting (27%), secure identity solutions (25%), security printing (18%), and ICT services (11%).

The shift comes as cash usage in the country continues to decline.
