De La Rue Hosts Inaugural Currency Leaders’ Summit in Malta

This month, the De La Rue Currency Leaders’ Summit 2026 brought together more than 60 senior leaders from over 30 central banks and issuing authorities around the world for a week of discussion, collaboration and innovation in its newly-opened Malta print supersite.

According to the company, the event provided a valuable opportunity for the global currency community to share perspectives, strengthen relationships and explore the opportunities and challenges shaping cash today and its future.

The programme featured a range of insightful presentations, expert panel discussions and interactive sessions covering topics including the evolving role of cash and the changing needs of issuing authorities. Delegates heard from industry specialists and central bank representatives, sharing experiences and practical insights from across different regions and markets.
