Closure of the nomination periods for both the MDC 2025 Coin Awards and the 2025 Excellence in Currency Awards are fast approaching, with the former to take place at MDC 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, and the latter at the Currency Conference in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 20th edition of the High Security Printing™ Asia conference in Bangkok, Thailand (2-4 December 2024), marked an important milestone in advancing the region’s security printing industry.

The Coin Conference 2024 – which focuses on the future of circulating coinage and its challenges – took place in 28-30 October in Lisbon, Portugal. Organised by the publishers of Currency News™, the conference hosted more than 200 delegates, from 102 organisations across 42 countries, with 40% from central banks, monetary authorities and treasury departments.

The programme has now been published for High Security Printing™ (HSP) Asia, which takes place 2-4 December 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Described as the cash industry’s pre-eminent gathering since its inception in 1992, for more than 30 years the Currency Conference has provided a unique platform for senior-level central bankers, representatives of printworks, and leading industry suppliers to deliberate and engage with peers on the most vital topics impacting currency policy and the issue function.

The inaugural Security Designers Forum was held in Warsaw, Poland, from 10-13 September 2024. An initiative of the security design community, it was the successor to the International Banknote Designers Conference and was a full-capacity event, attracting 176 delegates from 82 organisations spanning 32 countries.
